Weather Fonts [Solved]

Working of the info in https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=14357

I have an icon/font rendering problem I don't know what is not working. I tried and modified the script, works well, but noticed the weather icon renders as a font box with the font code.
at the moment ⛅️ which renders here in a browser, but everywhere else is a box with 26C5. Using gucharmap it shows the same box with a proper description and alias 'partly cloudy'.

curl -s wttr.in/?format=%c

This returns the box in a terminal, as it does when packaged for genmon, never renders as a picture.

Since the same font selection for the browser renders correctly, but everything else doesn't - what's broken?
This behaves the same on all my debian varieties old stable to sid. So I've not found some version difference and suspect a config issue.

Confused.

Re: Weather Fonts [Solved]

Do you have an emoji font installed? Something like noto-fonts-emoji? See: https://github.com/chubin/wttr.in/issues/312.

Re: Weather Fonts [Solved]

Thank you, I'm not that hip, so no fonts.

For my bullseye test the repos have 'fonts-symbola' in  b/w and 'fonts-noto-color-emoji' might work for color...
so I see, the character map shows it too, so newer fonts!
