Display bug I created myself : xfce4 4-13

Hi everyone
I had an issue and I had to restore my home directory from a recent backup.
All seemed nice  except one thing:
My desktop displays all the files in my personnal directory with icons and titles, instead of the launchers stored in my ~/Desktop anf this clearly a mess:

So I tried to erase the ~/.config/xfce4/Desktop  directory but it is re-created at each session opening. I tried to modify the icons.screen0-1920x1013.rc but it is also re-created.

I tried of course to modify in desktop parameter to uncheck all non necessay box as of:

I'm lost and I don't see what else to try unless having the risk to create another issue.

Any idea around ? Thanks

Make sure that XDG_DESKTOP_DIR points to $HOME/Desktop in ~/.config/user-dirs.dir and then run:

xfdesktop -Q
xdg-user-dirs-update --force
xfdesktop &

...or just log out and back in again.

Thanks a lot again.

Sorry, I meant run those commands or log out and back in again. Either way, glad it solved the issue for you.
