Path for exec/find in whiskermenu

Hello!

I am just trying to start a tool by entering its name in the exec/find control and it does not work.
If I do the same in a xfce4-terminal, it works.
It works too, if I enter the pull path, but this is really annoying.
This path ("/ops/tools" - at the end of "$PATH") is always in my settings and works everywhere else.
Where or how can I enforce, that this control uses my path?

Thanks,
Manfred

Re: Path for exec/find in whiskermenu

I assume your talking about the search bar in whisker-menu?

Right click on the whisker icon in the panel and select properties. Under the "search actions" tab it will show you how to make different searches.

If I assume wrongly please explain "exec/find control".

Re: Path for exec/find in whiskermenu

Hello!

Thanks for your replay.
I see.
But I want just type a command there to execute it (usually a bash script),
BUT without specifying the path, the script is located in.
It should automatically lookup all defined pathes which are already
set in the PATH variable.

Thanks,
Manfred

ALT+F2 open the run dialogue. Type in your command. You likely won't see anything unless it's a graphical request or you include opening the terminal in you command.
