old background image is shown

Hello all,

when I open my notebook lid I briefly see an old background image.

I am using XFCE. My notebook is switched on. The lid is closed. When I open the lid now I see briefly an old background image for about 0,5s. Then the current background image is displayed. I have not set a screen saver. When I select the image in the XFCE configuration "Desktop" - "Background", my current image is displayed. Where is this old image stored? Which configuration is XFCE accessing? I don't know the name of the old image, unfortunately.

As I understand it xfdesktop runs on top of the root window so your likely seeing that. You could use xsetroot to set your background image or just a colour if you prefer.
I used to too what you describe when waking the laptop up but I no longer let my laptop sleep or hibernate. The screen just blanks after a set time or when the lid closes or I just turn it off.
