Files under Workspace

Hi All,

In my linux environment, I have four (4) workspaces.
Currently I am in workspace1

I am opening two files say  file.txt and output.log
These two files are not visible, hidden.
I have to press "Alt+Tab" to see these files.
Basically these two files are moving to workspace1 but hidden.

But I want always the files to be opened outside of this workspac1, so that it dispalys individually on the taskbar as
file.txt
output.log

How to get this?

How are you opening these files? In which application are they opening?

These two files are not visible, hidden.

Do you mean when they are opened, they do not raise themselves (meaning they open in the background)?

Also which distro and version of Xfce are you running?

Re: Files under Workspace

How are you opening these files? In which application are they opening?
==> GNOME Terminal

gvim file.txt
gvim output.log

These files are opening in background, so these are not appearing in task bar (bottom of the window).

Also which distro and version of Xfce are you running?
==>xfce version 4.12

Doesn't gvim open its own window? Not another terminal window?

These files are opening in background, so these are not appearing in task bar (bottom of the window).

Can you post back:

xfconf-query -c xfce4-panel -lv

Also which distro and version of Xfce are you running?
==>xfce version 4.12

Distro?

Re: Files under Workspace

Thank you, sorry for the late reply.
Somehow, in pannel settings, I added items "Windows Items and Seperator", solved my issue.
