HTTP referrer header is mandatory, and you lose your post finding out

I've just tried to make my first post.

I spent some time writing, thinking, editing.

I usually when posting anything on-line made a copy before hitting submit because it is SO common for web-sites to balls things up.  I did not do so this time - I think in part because I had registered already, and wasn't expecting things to go wrong *after* this point.

However, that happened here, where the forum told me AFTER hitting submit that the HTTP referrer header is mandatory, and at that point, I had no way to recover my post.

I ***HATE*** having to recreate well thought out and composed posts or emails.  It is SO PAINFUL.
