Image manage for XCFE

I am looking for a basic image manager for XCFE, and instructions how to install if anyone can help, I'm a complete newbie to Linux, having escaped from Windows 10.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

@OP: what distro are you running? We can't really tell you how to install without knowing what your OS is.

I agree that Digikam is great, but not sure I would qualify it as "basic" per OP. Plus it brings in a lot of KDE packages for outsiders. For me, the answer depends on what exactly OP wants to do with the application.

not really, the qt5 port is really lightweight (like all kde5 apps)

sure there exist some other like f-spot, gthumb or shotwell but they arent any better: f-spot req: MONO the other 2 are GNOME apps so they bing those childish headerbars and popovers to your desktop along with some awesome GNOME3 deps.

Well I suppose it depends on what people understand by "a lot." On our implementation of Debian 8.3 it would require 138 new packages totaling 331 MB, which for me is a lot.

at first debian 8.3 does ship the qt4 version.
secondly, keep in mind that debian build its packages with all features(which is mostly not needed for the usual users. (eg inkscape has in debian gvfs deps that are only needed if you want to import cliparts from openclipart) however if you don't disable this feature you will also need gconf and a few other gnome deps.

also dont forget that debian packages are spitted into multiple packages for example:

gtk3 is one or two package(s) in the most distributions but in debian its splitted into >10 packages.

I use viewnior for viewing images, set to open in fullscreen and then scrolling with mousewheel from pic to pic.
For more basic functions like resize, move to, save as, delete etc. maybe try Geeqie or Phototonic

I use ristretto to view images. To manage them? Thunar, I suppose.
