others ways to manage themes

Is there a recent  distro that have GUI user-friendly program , for changing gtk parameters in files just by clicks on colors for categories ?

Something like the customization window in the theme in Natty Narwhal and previous distributions : (First Answer)
https://askubuntu.com/questions/172280/ … rder-color

Because It's not useful at all to open text , image files . It's low level configuration .

-----------------

Since i use Xubuntu , i never seen a QT theme or else library applications .

Which other DE , can i try for  ?

Re: others ways to manage themes

GTK does not support color schemes, the link is talking about symbolic colors (https://wiki.gnome.org/Attic/GnomeArt/T … olicColors), clearlooks uses those names but you can give them any name you want(which breaks color changing in GNOME/MATE settings dialog)

symbolic colors just an easy way to define colors once for the whole theme

eg: https://github.com/sixsixfive/Ivy/blob/ … lorsr.c#L2 defines #ebebeb as "window" which is later reused: https://github.com/sixsixfive/Ivy/blob/ … ttonr.c#L7 (bg[NORMAL]=shade(1.05,@window) symbolic colors are also the only way to use expressions in GTK(eg lighten/darken a predefined color: https://wiki.gnome.org/Attic/GnomeArt/T … pressions)

qt on the other hand does fully support color schemes it will also by default use the gtk2 theme and gtk2 dialogs to integrate itself in gnome based desktop environments like xfce/mate

Re: others ways to manage themes

So , how can i use Qt with Xfce ?

Or wich distro , DE use by default color schemes ?

I would like for example to change the scrollbar background color in general without having to care about engines or whatever else .

Just by selecting the color in a app , simply .

Xfce uses GTK+, If you want something similar you can try LXQt: http://lxqt.org/

>DE use by default color schemes?

KDE or any other Qt based desktop environment(for qt5 you probably need qt5ct: https://sourceforge.net/projects/qt5ct/)

Re: others ways to manage themes

In the link , lxqt doesn't seem to come whith a default system or a iso ?

So , for a simple live , it must be download from others site ?

Does  Mate , Gnome use only GTK by default ?

i used recently KDE with ubuntu ( apt-get ) and PC-BSD ( default DE )  , it takes a long times to open the session with both , and the animation thing ..  not necessary .

What's the name of this program ?

Or  else , maybe others WM than xfwm4 supports QT themes ?

So graphic libraries are part of the OS , DE and aren't related to WMs ?

I was thinking of a WM that handle Qt themes ..

This option about the scrollbar doesn't appear in your pic ( tested too, same result ) .

WMs handle windows(resize, move etc), they also draw the window frame/border
DEs (desktop environments) are application bundles of the most used applications(WM, Panel, File Manager, Text Editor etc.)

Qt is an application framework that can be used to write Apps, WMs, DEs.

well it depends on your style, you can also use qtcurve: https://slackalaxy.files.wordpress.com/ … pshot1.png or other styles that improve that
