md5?

This is probably dumb, but this is the first time I have ever done a md5 checksum anything (windows user).  Where on the Linux site do I go to compare my md5 number with the site number?  The instructions say to go to the download page, but all I see there are download mirror sites.  Thanks!

Re: md5?

It depends on what you actually downloaded. If you downloaded the Xfce fat tarball (source), then click on the "Details" link to get the md5 hash.

Perhaps you downloaded a linux distro instead of the Xfce source, in which case, which distro did you download and from where?

Re: md5?

Depending on what you're talking about, your package manager might do this for you... can you provide more contenxt?  Are you download source tarballs?  Pre-compiled packages?
