XFCE on RPi 320x240 TFT

Hello,
I tried to search but did not find anything so I will post.
I have installed XFCE4 on a Raspberry Pi connected to 2.4" HAT Primary Display for the Raspberry Pi.
All works well but~~~~ when I open some dialog boxes (for example right click on the desktop), the dialog box size is like 400x300 and is larger than the 320x240 display. I can scale icons, menus, panels etc but I cannot find what to do about dialog boxes.
help. What can I do (someone newbie to Linux).
tnx
sc

Re: XFCE on RPi 320x240 TFT

not much since xfce(or any other linux desktop) isn't created for such ancient resolutions, but:

you could decrease the font size, change all icon sizes to 16px

see also:

https://developer.gnome.org/gtk2/stable … icon-sizes

you could also scale 640x480 to 320x240 with xrandr(you will lose every second line) eg:
