XFCE Mirrors Displays After Log Off

After I log off and log back into XFCE I find that my dual monitor set up has changed and the two monitors are now mirroring each other. I have to run the command <xrandr --output DFP1 --left-of DFP2> to get them back. Also the name of the monitors has changed from HDMI-0 and DVI-0 to DFP1 and DFP2.
Any ideas?

Thank You

Did you install any updates recently?

Yeah, but it was a whole host of updates, do I have to go through, uninstall, log out, log in and reinstall each one?

Re: XFCE Mirrors Displays After Log Off

I'd look for the obvious ones (video driver or whatever controls the multi-screen stuff) first. Common sense states that if you observe one behavior, then update one or more files, and after updating you observe a different behavior, that the change was due to one of the changed files. Try looking at the relevant file(s) changelogs to see if the change was an intended one (for whatever reason) by the developer. If that doesn't give a clue, you can search for bug reports.

That's not a certainty, however. There is such a thing as coincidence.
