Trouble with exo-open and URL encoded files

Hi!

Thanks in advance for taking the time.  I'm relatively new to these sorts of forums, so please forgive and correct any errors in etiquette!

I think I have a bug but I'm not sure if I'm just doing things wrong, and I don't want to hassle the developers with it if I am just being dense.

I'm using XFCE 4.12 on openSUSE tumbleweed.

The application Calibre is having trouble opening any files with a space in them (I'm sure the file is really there):

Failed to open URI "file:///home/james/Calibre%20Library/Unknown/the%20c%20book%20(2)"

Error when getting information for file '/home/james/Calibre%20Library/Unknown/the%20c%20book%20(2)': No such file or directory.

Now this seems to be this bug:  https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12017 , which is marked as resolved however, so maybe it's a regression?

To check here are some commands I did:

james@linux-svb1:~/Documents> touch fish.txt
james@linux-svb1:~/Documents> touch fish\ fantastic.txt
james@linux-svb1:~/Documents> ls -l
total 0
-rw-r--r-- 1 james users 0 May 10 10:04 fish fantastic.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 james users 0 May 10 10:04 fish.txt
drwxr-xr-x 8 james users 98 Apr 24 10:09 MuseScore2
james@linux-svb1:~/Documents> exo-open 'file:///home/james/Documents/fish.txt'
james@linux-svb1:~/Documents> exo-open 'file:///home/james/Documents/fish%20fantastic.txt'

The first command (for fish.txt) successfully fires up leafpad.  The second command pops up a file not found error message.

So should I post a bug report, or am I missing something?
Thanks!
James.

Re: Trouble with exo-open and URL encoded files

Hello and welcome.

Can you confirm which version of exo you are using? The bug was fixed and released in version 0.10.7.

Re: Trouble with exo-open and URL encoded files

Okay so I was being dense, openSUSE tumbleweed uses 0.10.6 still.

Thanks very much for your time, I'll look into how to get it updated.

Thanks!
James.
