screen brightness notifications

Hi! Is there any way to completely disable notifications? I have unchecked 'Show notifications' in Xfce power manager, but it seems not to work at all. I have also remove the package 'xfce4-notifyd' , but nothing has changed too. Thanks.

Which distro? Which version of that distro (and of Xfce)? Is there a chance you have another notification "engine" installed (GNOME's, maybe)?

I'm on debian testing, previously installed mate was completely removed. Xfce version is 4.12

sorry for the inconvenience, that was mate notification package that i haven't removed. everything works fine now.
