Hello !
I have a tearing problem using Xfce on my HP Pavilion dv6 laptop.
Horizontal lines appear when something is moving fast (video, page scrolling, game, ...).
When moving slowly there is no problem.
Curiously, those lines only appear on the upper part of the screen.
Display is although a little jerky.
Do you have any idea how I could get problem-free display ?
I have Nvidia GT 320M graphics using the "nouveau" driver (using the Nvidia driver gives worse results).
Vertical synchronisation is enabled in Xfce settings.
Thanks for you help.

The Xfce compositor causes a lot of screen tearing, until it is fixed use compton instead.

Thanks for your advice !
I've heard Compton is quite ressource-consuming, do you know other compositors that would work fine as well ?

Basically almost anything that isn't the xfce compositor should work fine. You can try kwin. However, I didn't have any issues with compton, even with nouveau.
