Firefox isn't saved in xfce4-session-settings .

So why does it start ? How to fix that ?

Somehow, it got saved in your sessions cache.

How to fix that ?

Try deleting your sessions cache via either Settings Manager > Session and Startup > Session > Clear saved sessions or manually deleting the ~/.cache/sessions folder while not logged in.

Re: Session, firefox , auto-start

When i delete the session and restart , there's no autostart .
But if i open firefox the next time and restart , firefox autostart.

So, its no use.

Re: Session, firefox , auto-start

Make sure you don't save the sessions on logout.

1. Uncheck Settings Manager > Session and Startup > General tab > "Automatically save session on logout"
2. When logging out, make sure that "Save session for logins" is unchecked.

If the problem still persists, you can disable session saving. See: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/xf … d_sessions.

Re: Session, firefox , auto-start

Which distro and version of Xfce are you using?

Can you post back the results of the following:

ls ~/.config/autostart
fgrep -ri firefox ~/.cache/sessions/
ls -lt ~/.cache/sessions
ls -al ~/.cache | grep sessions
xfconf-query -c xfce4-session -p /general/AutoSave
xfconf-query -c xfce4-session -p /general/PromptOnLogout

Re: Session, firefox , auto-start

Try this command (it will prevent the system from writing to the session cache which in turn should prevent this behaviour):

rm ~/.cache/sessions/* && chmod 500 ~/.cache/sessions

Re: Session, firefox , auto-start

I also have this issue with Chrome on one computer. It seems to be related to wanting to have chrome autostart in one user and not in the other user. Xubuntu seems to not support that although I think it is supposed to.

Re: Session, firefox , auto-start

I had to mofify the command ToZ , because he found a directory in ~/.cache/sessions/ .

Tested with the pc on 14.04 , it works .

rm -r  ~/.cache/sessions/* && chmod 500 ~/.cache/sessions
