[Resolved] Autostart service/XFCE Polkit password

Hi,

I'm trying to autostart "hddtemp.service".

1) I added "service hddtemp start" and "/bin/systemctl start  hddtemp.service" to Settings -> Sessions and Startup (not at the same time)
No effect. How do I get this service to autostart?

2) When I enter "service hddtemp start" in terminal, I'm prompted by XFCE Policykit Agent to enter password. How do I set it up so I wouldn't have to? (Assuming that autostart has no effect)

Thanks!

One way is, to modify sudoers file to allow yourself the right to start that service without password. Then you write a script that starts it and you add it to "Autostart Applications". But, mind you, you still have to prefix "service hddtemp start" with sudo in that script.

I believe you just need to enable the service. The Arch Wiki explains what to do.

"systemctl enable hddtemp.service" did the trick. Thanks!
