xplanet for background picture

I am using Debian unstable with Xfce.

Is someone able to run xplanet to create background images for the desktop?

Re: xplanet for background picture

Try this:

1. Run the following command:

xplanet -geometry 1366x768 -output ~/.cache/xplanet.png -wait 60

...and change geometry to your screen geometry and the wait to the amount of time to wait until the image updates.

2. Set your xfdesktop wallpaper to ~/.cache/xplanet.png

Hint: If you want to see the image update, add a "-timewarp 100" parameter. This will speed up the planet changes 100 fold so you can see the sun moving across the planet.
