How to disable function keys (especially F1 and F11)

Hi,
I am the happy user of a text editor that runs inside the terminal and that utilizes the function keys - all of them. So in the Xfce terminal Preferences menu I checked both items at Advanced -> Menubar Access. Then indeed the F10 key stopped its default action. However, 2 stubborn function keys were not affected: F1 kept asking whether I wanted to read a manual, and F11 made the terminal become fullscreen. I tried a lot to disable those function keys, but in vain.

I am running the latest Xfce desktop, Xubuntu 16.04. Who can help me to regain control over all function keys?

Hello and welcome.

It is possible to delete the F1 and F11 accelerators for xfce4-terminal. In a nstshell:

Enable editable accelerators at Settings Manager > Appearance > Settings
In xfce4-terminal, hover your mouse over the View>Fullscreen and Help>Contents menu items and press the delete key.

This will remove those keyboard shortcuts and that functionality.

That option has ceased to work with the latest version of Terminal as it is now GTK3

Yes, this method is not supported in GTK3. Not sure what the alternative is.
