Dual monitors pulling my hair out!!

Hey,

Before I start moaning let me say I love XFCE.
Been using it for 10 years or more!
Fantastic work!

Ok, so the way multiple displays are handled is driving me nuts.

I'll just go through my Friday.

Come to work 7am, dock my lenova x230.

Display settings pop up
Do the predefined options fit? Nope hit advanced.
Only one screen shown.
Tick mirror on, tick mirror off
Ok I see both now.
Drag laptop down to match actual layout.
Set larger display as primary.
Work work work.
9am have meeting.

Undock laptop.
Windows are stuck offscreen.
Oh well I don't need. On to doodling.
"Hey can you show us that spreadsheet"
Plug in laptop, missing  windows appear on the projector.
Of course the top Chromium tab isn't  work it's Bitching In Spanish Like A Latino
Laugh my way out of it and get the spreadsheet up.
Back to my office and repeat step one.

Work work work wok

3:30p time to go.
Shutdown, head to my camp.
Plug in to the 46" screen there.
Display settings pop up
Do the predefined options fit? Nope hit advanced.
Only one screen shown.
Tick mirror on, tick mirror off
Ok I see both now.
Drag laptop down to match actual layout.
Set laptop display as primary.
Fire up KODI, it outputs to the big screen as defined in it's settings.
Open Google Play Desktop Music Player
It's on the wrong screen. I have my buddy direct me to grab the window as you can't see the screen where the laptop sits.
It takes a while..
Get some Lettuce on and mix another Gin and Juice.
Fast fwd a few hours and we're deciding what to eat.
Go to the laptop and launch chromium.
Again wrong display. I'm too drunk to deal with this.
I use my android sad

So three issues:
Xfwm4 doesn't seem to honor primary display.

Windows get stuck off screen

Why can't I define/save the Display setting?
Instead of 4 options I never use how about I can save work, projector, camp and home?
I'm sure other users have there own setups too.

Once again thanks for all the hard work on XFCE, absolute best desktop even with the issues.

EDIT:
Actually 4 issues. I don't see two screens till I tick mirror on and off. This doesn't seem to happen if it's booted docked.

Re: Dual monitors pulling my hair out!!

i feel your pain and have a very similair issue with no solution - have to manually rejig everything when docked and then undocked (HP Elitebook). very frustrating having to do it every morning in the office then every night at home - repeat.
