Strange Browser Window Manager Configuration

Some odd symbols have appeared on my browser window.  A series of stylized f's appear in the tabs, address window when viewing https sites, and in the window that pops up when closing multiple tabs.  This behaviour appears in chrome, firefox and Opera Devel.  Opera's behaviour is even stranger as the address box text color appears to be transparent or white.  You can't see it but it is there.  Only browser window seems to be affected.  Other windows such for files etc. appear to be fine.  Is there a utility or config file that can be tweaked to get rid of this?

Re: Strange Browser Window Manager Configuration

I pasted your whole first sentence into a web search, and see lots of hits--some with solutions. Might want to take a look if you haven't already...

Re: Strange Browser Window Manager Configuration

Thank you for the suggestion.  I did try that and just tried again but none of the searches address the issue.  I just added Lubuntu Desktop and have switched to that for the time being.  That fixed the issue.  But I just customized XFCE to my liking.  I'll figure it out.  Cheers.

Re: Strange Browser Window Manager Configuration

What theme are you using? If not using greybird, try switching to that one to see if it helps.

Re: Strange Browser Window Manager Configuration

I tried it and did not work.  I need to find the config file that controls this behaviour or replace it with a default file.  The themes change the look but not the behaviour of the browser window.  I can't even use Chrome now as the text in the url and history are either invisible or overwritten with symbols.  Firefox is the only usable browser.

Re: Strange Browser Window Manager Configuration

I fixed this via resetting to xfce default configuration.  I have to redo my my desktop configuration but I got rid of the browser behaviour problem. This is the ubuntu forum page I referenced:
https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2287826
This is how I reset to default XFCE configuration behavior:

Try logging out, then at login screen use Ctrl+Alt+F1 to go to TTY command line at which you can login with your username and password, (the password will not show on screen; just type and hit Enter).

At the command line when logged in rename the ~/.config/xfce4 with command
Code:
mv .config/xfce4 .config/xfce4backup

then start a GUI session with command
Code:
startx

Thanks for the great replies.  How do I set this as problem solved?
