[solved] xfce4-terminal multiline urls

Hi everyone!

I would like to know how I can convince xfce4-terminal to detect multiline URLs.
The wiki-entry only mentions the option to disable URL detection completely.

And: Why has this not been a topic before? Am I the only one with this problem?
Modern webapps generate really long URLs … ever tried to track the shipment you
are expecting from amazon?

And: Where does xfce keep the source code? On Launchpad? Edit: Nope, git.xfce.org

Despite that small annoyance, xfce4 is awesome and I am very happy with it. smile

Re: [solved] xfce4-terminal multiline urls

I'm not sure I understand the problem.
Could you show us an example of such a "multiline URL," and explain how you produce it so that the terminal won't recognise it?

Re: [solved] xfce4-terminal multiline urls

Yes, of course. I realized that this works in xfce4-terminal, but not in my mail client, sup.
However it is strange that this does not work, because sup leaves the url handling to the terminal.

Here are some screenshots of the selected link (edit: open in a new tab if that is too small):

The behaviour of sup, not completely underlined and incomplete if clicked.

Re: [solved] xfce4-terminal multiline urls

Sorry, but: if the developer of sup isn't fixing it, why bring it here if it has nothing to do with xfce4-terminal?

And: Why has this not been a topic before? Am I the only one with this problem?

I think you answered that in your second post: b/c the problem is with sup. There must be a zillion other email clients that don't have this problem...

MX-23 (based on Debian Stable) with our flagship Xfce 4.18.

Yes, obviously I did realize that.

Why did I bring it here?
As I wrote this, it was not clear that this is a problem with sup (that is why I made two posts, one for the problem, one to share my findings). I explained it to luvr and I realized that it has nothing to do with the terminal.

However, the thing is not entirely clear, because as I said:

However it is strange that this does not work, because sup leaves the url handling to the terminal.

But we don't have to discuss that here, right?
