Dual Monitor: Screensaver kicking in even as I'm typing...

XFCE: 4.12.1
Distro; Fedora Core 24 (up to date)
Dual Monitor (2560x1440).
Video Card: Radeon HD 5770 series

Very irritating- as i'm actively typing, the workspace is often switched to a completely different workspace page and a small portion of the XScreenSaver dialog appears within other applications (NOT on top as one would expect, but mixed in with portions of application from other workspace pages).  The XScreensaver dialog is not active, and does not accept mouse or keyboard input.

Switching between workspace pages clears the issue up for a few minutes until it fires off again and again. 

I'm about ready to un-install the XScreensaver again-  but then one cannot lock the keyboard/monitor...  very awkward.
