Xubuntu 16.4/ xfce 4.12
Just up-graded from 10.4 and im having a problem with the desktop icons not staying where I place them, every time I reboot they auto arrange to the left of the screen
I have googled this problem and it seems quite a few people are having the same issue but have not found a solution.

Thanks
but I am a bit disappointed that this bug has been unresolved from 2014
it is the customisation of xfce that I like and not being able to arrange the desktop icons (like the panels and buttons) how I want them, and not how someone else thinks where they should go.

Solved, sort of
normally I dont have the save session box ticked has caused a few problems in the past
but I thought I would arrange the icons the way I wanted
and then save session
and the next time I started Xununtu they had not moved
un-ticked save session re booted and still not moved
seems I can now add or remove folders or launchers and the stay where I put them.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. I don't personally use desktop icons, but this might be useful information for others that do.
