Terminal Menubar Color does not match theme

Hi. I use xfce on my archlinux laptop and yesterday I ran a big update. As of today, my terminal emulator menubar color is wonky. It looks like this

It used to look so much better and I'm not sure what changed in between the update. Does anyone know how I can make it look more this

Notice the menubar transparency and color.

Re: Terminal Menubar Color does not match theme

Hello and welcome.

I use xfce on my archlinux laptop and yesterday I ran a big update

What got updated? Specifically, with respect ot gtk3 and xfce4-terminal (have a look at /var/log/pacman.log)? Have you tried a different gtk3 theme? A dark-based one like Vertex-Dark or Arc-Dark?

Re: Terminal Menubar Color does not match theme

sorry I lost my original account info... I wont lose this one.

Anyways...

$ sudo cat /var/log/pacman.log | grep "gtk3"

yielded

[2016-02-25 12:45] [ALPM] installed gtk3 (3.18.7-1)
[2016-03-08 14:31] [ALPM] upgraded gtk3 (3.18.7-1 -> 3.18.8-1)
[2016-04-02 18:54] [ALPM] upgraded gtk3 (3.18.8-1 -> 3.18.9-1)
[2016-06-06 22:47] [ALPM] upgraded gtk3 (3.18.9-1 -> 3.20.6-1)
[2016-09-21 23:59] [ALPM] upgraded gtk3 (3.20.6-1 -> 3.20.9-1)
[2017-01-02 02:54] [ALPM] upgraded gtk3 (3.20.9-1 -> 3.22.5-1)

and as for xterminal we have...

[2016-02-25 12:45] [ALPM] installed xfce4-terminal (0.6.3-2)
[2016-06-06 22:49] [ALPM] upgraded xfce4-terminal (0.6.3-2 -> 0.6.3-3)
[2017-01-02 02:56] [ALPM] upgraded xfce4-terminal (0.6.3-3 -> 0.8.2-1)

Both packages got an upgrade last night

Edit: I'm not terribly familiar with xfce (even though i've had it for a year, lol). How do I change my theme to the ones you suggested? I have tried Settings -> Appearance -> Theme but its not listed there... is it a custom theme I must download?

On another note, My theme is the same as it was last night. It is only the menu bar color that has changed.

Re: Terminal Menubar Color does not match theme

You upgraded xfce4-terminal from a gtk2 version to a gtk3 version.

How do I change my theme to the ones you suggested? I have tried Settings -> Appearance -> Theme but its not listed there... is it a custom theme I must download?

You'll need to install and use a GTK 3.22-compliant theme to get the proper theming.

Here are a few:
- https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/vertex-themes/
- https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gtk-theme-arc-git/
- https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/xfce-theme-greybird/

These are available in the Arch AUR.
