Text Only weather plugin

I would like to configure the weather plugin to only show text in the panel (ie only show the scrollbox), but display the icons when I open the weather app. Any way to do this?

Not that I can see. It looks hard-coded to always display the icon.

Shameless plug: if you can get a script to extract the weather information from a source, you can use the xfce4-genmon-plugin to display the information in the panel with or without icons.
