Audio Jack and HDMI output Muted (Debian / XFCE 4.12)

Firstly I'm running a Debian distribution of Xfce 4.12,

Both Audio jack and HDMI outputs are muted but on board Acer aspire laptop speakers are currently working...

aplay -l

in alsamixer only these options showing (which are not showing as muted)

F3:[Playback] F4: Capture

can anybody help?

Not really a Xfce issue but if you are using PulseAudio try the PulseAudio Volume Control, (pavucontrol) and unmute them there.
