xterms/apps returning when logging in again

In the past, when I have logged off of my machine
running Xfce, when I would log on again, the xterms
I had running when I logged off would return on the
same workspaces as before.

Now, with my Fedora 25 installation running Xfce 4.12,
no matter what xterms I have in the workspaces,
when I log off and then log on again, the same xterms
do _not_ reappear.  Rather, whenever I log on again,
_the_same_ group of xterms always reappears, regardless
of the state of my workspaces when I logged off.

I take it that Xfce is not not remembering or updating
things when I log off.  How can I fix this?

I am running Fedora 25, Kernel 4.10.10, and Xfce 4.12

Clear the saved sessions in Settings - Sessions and Startup - Session. When you log out make sure the saved session option isn't checked.
