What is the selected application for XFCE's exo-open?

Under XFCE, xdg-open calls exo-open.

When one calls "exo-open foo.txt" (local path, without --launch), how is the corresponding application selected? How to configure this?

Re: What is the selected application for XFCE's exo-open?

Hello and welcome.

It uses the mime database and pre-set default applications. You can use the Mime Type Editor in Xfce to change the user-specific default applications.

Thanks a lot.

For the record, to launch the Mime Type Editor, run xfce4-mime-settings.

Or click All Settings > Mime Type Editor

MX-23 (based on Debian Stable) with our flagship Xfce 4.18.

...or press Alt-F2, type mime, and cursor down to see the entry (via Xfce's Application Finder).
