Just spent way too much of my time getting a new installation of XFCE4 set up to my liking. And, for others and myself a few months down the road after I've forgotten this (yet again) a little nugget of advice: When setting up font size, make sure you not only set things up with xfce-settings-manager-->appearance AND xfce-settings-manager--Window-manager (the later mostly for the window title bar. But, if you use any native KDE apps (like KPatience) or QT apps (I use musescore) then one needs to use the KDE settings manager! And, then for some other apps it seems that setting up font size using gnome-tweak-tool is needed as well.
So, there is my reminder. And, if anyone knows of an easier way to do this, please post here!

for the qtapps install https://sourceforge.net/projects/qt5ct set the same font, dpi and hinting settings as in gtk
you might need to remove your kdeglobals to force a re-creation

you can also manually force the font settings with gtk-settings:
GTK2: https://developer.gnome.org/gtk2/stable … properties
GTK3: https://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/stable … properties

Pity that xfce can't handle font size across applications. Mind you, I had the same problem with Mint Cinnamon ... so, I'm assuming that it's hard to do?
