Make a panel hide under windows

Hello there,
I am checking out Xubuntu on a virtual machine before I decide to install it on a physical PC. So far so good! The only problem I have stumbled upon is that I cannot make a certain panel be overlaped by application windows. I have created a simple panel and put a clock in it. The problem is, it is always on top. Here is a screen:

I couldnt find any option to make the panel hide under windows. Is it possible? I would appreciate all help!

Re: Make a panel hide under windows

I think you want the "Intelligent Hide" option

https://docs.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-panel/preferences

Automatically hide the panel

- Never
- Intelligently: Hide the panel when the currently focused window overlaps with the panel's position.
- Always
