Hello
I have installed xfce4 on my second server, and by default the icons theme was Adwaita. I tried to change it to elementary Xfce, and did not worked. Also tried to reinstall and nothing.
In my first server when I installed Xfce by default was the elementary Xfce theme, and I don't know what happened now.
I have also tried with new themes, but I can't change to the new and other themes. It looks like marked but does not change anything.
The only problem with this is that I can't see the folders and some other things.
It's a bug?
Do you have any help?

Could it be a Gtk2 vs. Gtk3 issue? I have been reading that the Xfce team is working on transitioning, maybe the theme you are attempting to use is only Gtk2 (or a previous version of Gtk3, since it seems that updates have been known to break things)?
What version of Xfce are you running? Are the versions the same on both of your servers, or might the one you recently installed on server #2 be newer?

MDM

4.12, the same version in both servers

Are you connecting to these servers locally or through something like VNC?
Also, is xfsettingsd running on the second server? If not, try starting it.

I have tried with the command xfsettingsd. Worked for milliseconds and then came back like before.
I was searching about the Xlib: extension "RANDR" missing on display ":1.0"., and was related with the VNC.
But in my other server I also was connected via VNC and there was no problem…

Which distros and distro versions are you running on your two servers? How about the versions of X windows and xrandr? Are they the same?
Also, are your ~/.vnc/xstartup files the same?

The system OS version was the same, but the xstartup was not the same. The xstartup file in my first server was like this:
#!/bin/bash
startxfce4 &
So I put that in my second server' xstartup, restarted and worked.
Thank you
