exo-open video-file

When I try to open a video with exo-open nothing happens unless I try to open it right after again.
exo-open seems to start "/usr/bin/totem --gapplication-service" (without a parameter for video-file).
This process vanishes after some time.
As said above, executing 'exo-open video-file' right after the unsuccessful launch
opens the video (before the totem-process vanishes).
After the process "/usr/bin/totem --gapplication-service" ended, the first exo-open fails again.

'totem --gapplication-service video-file' works fine issued from a terminal.

The video plays fine opend with 'totem video-file' or other video apps.

Seems there is a problem in the way exo-open launches totem.
