What's the purpose of libapplicationsmenu.so?

I'm playing around with Xfce and when I kill xfce4-panel, remove /usr/lib64/xfce4/panel/plugins/libapplicationsmenu.so and then execute xfce4-panel I can't see any issue at all. So the question is: libapplicationsmenu does what exactly?

libapplicationsmenu.so is the library file for the Applications Menu plugin.

Re: What's the purpose of libapplicationsmenu.so?

I see. I was using another Application Menu and that's why messing with libapplicationsmenu.so wasn't changing anything. Thanks! smile
