Getting rid of this annoying error beep

Hello,

I've used Xfce for a long time but I recently reinstalled several of my computers. On these PCs Xfce emits an error beep even when I click on the logout button. I've found that

xset b off

does the trick but I wonder if it's the best solution and how to tell Xfce to run this command automatically.

Any help is welcome.

If the beep is coming from the speaker, try blacklisting pcspkr.
