upgrade from 4.10 to 4.12 on kxstudio (ubuntu 14)?

hi all, im running kxstudio plus xfce 4.10 which is the best os ever!

now i want to upgrade it to 4.12 and cant for the life of me find a repository to do that from. i understand my version of ubuntu (14) is no longer supported? is building it from source the only solution? ive never done that and dont want to screw up my system ... thanks!

Maybe this would work
add a ppa
