I am running xfce4 on multiple debian 9 installations.
I have a tower that I have purged xfce4-power-manager in hopes the system will not sleep.
I have 3 computers connected to one monitor and when I leave the xfce4 deb9 machine the monitor moved to another os due to monitor inactivity.
What can I do to keep the video active when I leave for a few minutes.
screen saver?
bois?
Thanks

you could enable the presentation mode in the power manger or you could disable dpms (xset -dpms)

Couldn't you just move all the display (et cetera) sliders all the way to the left, to the "Never" position? That's what I did a few years ago when I wanted to keep the display on at all times.

Looks like you'd want to reconfigure your multiple monitor facilitating device (whether it be software or hardware), then.

When I wanted to keep the display active, I picked XScreenSaver's "Disable Screen Saver" mode from the drop-down list. But I don't know if that is still an option in the newest versions of this application or, indeed, whether you are even running this one as your screensaver app.

Solved:
- re-installed xfce4-power-manager
- configured xfce4-power-manager and turned everything off
- configured Monitor power settings.
All is good and thanks for the posts.
