I would like to click on the clock and have the option to set an alarm or a timer.
Something like this:
A line rigth below the calendar:
"Set an alarm or timer"
...or two lines:
"Set an alarm"
"Set a timer"
It could be something simple like alarm-clock-applet (https://community.linuxmint.com/softwar … ock-applet) or similar software integrated to the clock(xfce4-datetime-plugin http://goodies.xfce.org/projects/panel- … me-plugin), I'm not sure if this is possible but it would be useful.

Have a look at the orage plugin (which is a clock that can set alarms) and xfce4-timer-plugin (which is a timer).
If those don't fit the bill, you might look at creating an enhancement request in the bug tracker to see if any developers are interested in adding that functionality.
Please remember to mark your thread [SOLVED] to make it easier for others to find

Just tested both, I still prefer the simplicity of alarm-clock-applet, thanks for the suggestions.
