Stolen focus upon dismissing dialog boxes

Hi,
I'm using Xfce 4.12.3 on MX17 Linux, with the XFWM compositor. Over in Window Manager I have focus set to follow mouse. I have set a reasonable delay time, and this is working generally well.

But there is one instance when the delay is not respected. When a program produces a dialog box, if its OK button lies over another program, that other program immediately receives focus upon click. This is especially a problem when that dialog is trying to paste something into the first program, since the paste is directly to the wrong program. What I am currently doing to work around it is dragging the dialog so that its OK button is over the first program. Then everything proceeds correctly.

I have played with the focus settings under Window Manager Tweaks (focus stealing, honor ICCCM), to no avail.

Is there a solution to this? Thanks.
