You have been given options to consider and yet for some reason, you choose not to address them.

Re: RSS Reader

Hey, OP, that's a nice blog you have, beautiful birds...

Let's make a deal, you try Liferea (which, if you recall, has a panel indicator), then tell us how it works for you (or why not), and I subscribe to your RSS feed.

Or not, whatever... have a nice day!

Re: RSS Reader

Not mentioned yet: most email clients these days include feed readers--I use Thunderbird. Works fine, and saves selecting, installing and having another app hanging around.

MX-23 (based on Debian Stable) with our flagship Xfce 4.18.

Xfce does not provide its own web browser, either, yet the OP is still managing to read and post on this forum (or at least post on it) roll .

Has he posted, somewhere, about why he is cherry-picking this particular type of application to gripe about not having an application written by the Xfce developers? In all seriousness here, I am not an expert in all things linux, so am willing to believe that there might be some kind of valid reason that either just has yet to be shared with us or that I have somehow missed if he has already done so. And I value things such as security as much as the next user, so if you have a valid reason, OP, please share it with us.

Also, OP, if this issue is actually one that you consider to be as important as appears to be the case, why not create an issue on Xfce's BountySource page, and donate a bounty for it? I just checked there, and people have recently offered amounts ranging from $5, $1/month... up to one user ("unknown") who offered $3,600 eight days ago. I did a search for rss and there were no results. Otherwise, I suppose the - small, volunteer - team of Xfce developers might get around to creating some kind of rss reader panel applet if and when they have somehow managed to create every app, fix every bug, and deal with every issue that they feel is more significant than yours. Surely, you can understand that?

This is a recording. If you have reached this post in error, please hang up, and gripe again.

Regards,
MDM
