Howto run script or command on workspace switch?

Hi there,

is it possible to execute a bash script or command everytime I switch workspaces? I dont use compositing and would like to use fake transparency with conky using the "feh" trick. triggering feh using sleep every second or so works well but it causes my laptop to consume more power and frankly loading background images every second is stupid wink. So triggering the feh command on desktop switch seems like a good idea.

Is this possible?

Thx and Regards
