Thunar Default View

How does a user set the preference to have Thunar start up in last directory/file location view or display?

I don't think you can do any of those things natively, anyone can confirm?

I found this thread where a very knowledgeable person suggests an approach to the last directory/file location problem, using wmctrl.

Thank you for that.

It made me realize that Thunar has tabs.  So I tried a couple but that didn't  help.

I guess what I really want then is something that saves the open tabs when closing.
