Disappearing window for VirtualBox VM after disconnect/reconnect

Host is Fedora 29 / XFCE 4.12

I connect to the desktop via X2GO (Win 7) and start a VM from the VirtualBox panel. The VM runs great, and I usually position it to a new XFCE workspace.

I then pause the session by just closing the Win 7 X2Go window, but when I reconnect by launching again, the window with the VM isn't there.
I can see the VirtualBox panel, and it says the VM is running.

I've been using XFCE for years now, and this is the only app I've seen do this. Even other app, with their open windows positioned randomly across multiple workspaces, always restores correctly in the same position I left them.

Anyone else seen this please?
