can't change folder background in xfce desktop settings

Hey there!

Im using Debian 9 with xfce as desktop environment. When I try to change the folder in desktop settings and choose other folder, to apply a diferent background appears in grey color, so I can't choose any other folder, this happens maybe because I updated something, but honestly  I don't remember what. I was searching for a solution previous doing this post. and I found something about this can be fixed, doing a downgrade to the libgtk2 version.

what should I do?

That is how it is supposed to work. You select the folder in that dialogue not the files. It will then display the included images in the desktop settings and you select the file there.
