[SOLVED] Problems with right-click context menu on desktop

I am running Arch Linux and XFCE 4.12.
Normally the right-click context menu on the desktop contains "Open Terminal Here" and "Find in this folder". These two items, together with their separators, disappeared from my desktop menu some time ago. The menu items are there when I right-click in Thunar. I have checked the desktop files ( /usr/share/applications/xfce4-terminal.desktop ) and they seem ok.
How do I get the these menu items back on the desktop menu?

I have the same issue and I wonder if it because my system. Debian Sid, is running the new GTK+ version of Thunar, 1.8.

Re: [SOLVED] Problems with right-click context menu on desktop

The Thunarx API, the one that provides these menu items,  was updated in Thunar 1.8. xfdesktop relies on the Thunarx API to display those items. Unfortunately, xfdesktop's support of the newer Thunarx API doesn't appear until xfdesktop version 4.13.2.

So basically, you need an updated version of xfdesktop to display those menu entries.
