xdm black screen

Hi, I have Kubuntu 18.10 in which I installed XFCE.

I wanted to use xdm as my display manager. So i installed it and I activated it using
`sudo dpkg-reconfigure xdm" and selecting xdm as my display manager.

But every time I reboot I am redirected to a black screen. I am able to do CTRL+ALT+F1, login as root in the terminal and restore LightDM, then reboot and gain access to a login screen.

What could be the problem? What debug information I need to provide? drivers

I have the NVIDIA proprietary driver

$ lsb_release -a

Re: xdm black screen

This isn't really an Xfce question. You are more likely to get a useful response from your distro.

Re: xdm black screen

I am sorry, I thought xdm was a display manager developed inside the xfce4 project. Apparently it is a X.Org display manager
