How to make applications collapse to tray?

I downloaded the qbittorrent program. When I closed the program, it closed, and on debian it curled up in a tray. How to set up xfce on a clean system so that everything collapses normally into a tray?

Different distros set different options for default behavior. Did you look at Preferences > Behavior?

Are you using an old version of the application? Maybe the inclusion of that setting in its options was a relatively recent one.
