Hey there,
so far I figured out that it is not easy to actually get a thumbnail pictures on the opened items in the taskbar.
But is there atleast a way to get an "x" to quickly close opened windows?
So that I hover over the icon of "thunar" which then shows a list of all opened thunar windows and next to each name is an "x" to instantly close it?
Thanks in advance!

It would still need some similar extra code.
In the Window Buttons properties, there is a setting for what to do when you middle click on an icon (Middle click action). If you set that to "Close Window", you can close the window by middle clicking on it. Would this work?

be sure there is an "x Close" at the bottom of the right-click menu from the app button in the panel.

Middle click sounds like a solution when not using the laptops touchpad. But still, Ican't find that option?

It's in the properties for the "Window Buttons" panel plugin (sorry for the screenshot in spanish):

Triple finger click should emulate middle click on a touchpad.

It's double tap for middle click on my laptop's touchpad, works fine!

Pressing both of its buttons at once (which is as easy as only pressing one of them IF the buttons are nearly touching) mimics a "middle button press" on mine and other laptops that I've tried it on. Since there doesn't appear to be a setting for this behavior in my "Mouse and Touchpad" configuration application, I've always assumed this to be standard behavior.
