mouse cursor sticky at left edge of desktop

when i move the mouse cursor to left edge of desktop, it gets stuck. Moving it up or down produces a jump to bottom/top left corner. Also (at ramdom) mouse gets stuck near left edge, as if there was an area it is not allowed to enter. No deskbar in sight anywhere near.

Disabled the usual annoyances like multiple desktops, snap to edge and whatnot. Any help?
