Hi,
i have installed Xubuntu 18.04 and use the Whisker Menu to open applications. After the last start all menu entries are lost except the wine tools. when i click on the whisker menu i can choose favorits, last used applications, all installed applications and wine. i've made a screenshot to make what i mean. i changed nothing. when i open menu libre the menu entries are still there. also when i use the other (more windows like) application menu all menu entries are there (but in english and not in the selected language).
whats is wrong here?
The screenshot is uploaded here: https://ibb.co/TkdxHjm

I've always found menu editors buggy. Perhaps you've hit one. What content do you have in ~/.config/menus and ~/.local/share/desktop-directories? You might want to move those files somewhere else temporarily to see if it fixes the issue. Note: you will lose and menu customizations that you've made.

I have not changed anything using the menu editor, i only checked the menu entries there.
in .config/menues there is only one subfolder applications-merged and there are some *.menu files from wine and an empty file called 'xdg-desktop-menu-dummy.menu'
In ~/.local/share/desktop-directories there are also some *.derectory files of applications installed with wine.
When i delete the files on both folders and restart nothing happens.

Does the regular Applications menu or the desktop Applications menu show the proper content or the same as Whisker?
What folders exist under /etc/xdg/xdg-xubuntu and what are the contents of the /etc/xdg/menus directory?
Also:
env | grep -i xdg
...to see your XDG environment variables.
It looks like your menu configuration files were changed.
