I've been using Ubuntu Studio 18.04 for some time now (years).
Recently, the middle mouse button no longer executes a copy/paste as it has for years.
xev shows the button down and up events and the scroll events are there (and in general scroll works in applications, browsers, editors, etc.)
The mouse configuration gives no option to use the middle button.
I don't remember ever having to set this and have found very little info on how to set it up any other way (i.e. edit a file, etc.)
Pint me to docs...but, I've not found it in my searches.

Hmm...well that's odd.
Since I had a second machine I checked all the settings and outputs from xev there and it looked the same, BUT, MMB copy/paste worked.
So, I swapped another good mouse on the not working machine...and MMB c/p worked!
I checked the battery voltage in the "not" working mouse and it was about 1.2 volts.
I replaced with a new battery and it works as well.
But, I'm still confused why xev reported the MMB the same in both cases, new and low battery???
